Collins Medical Library
The Collins Medical Library houses a collection of recent anesthesia text books and journal subscriptions and serves the educational, research, and patient care needs of the Medical Center. The Library supports many additional functions including information services, computer facilities, the hospital reading room and reference services.

Computer Support and Internet Access
All Faculty offices have dedicated computers and have their individual e-mail addresses. Faculty and residents have 24 hour access to Medline search and to the Internet. All preoperative areas, Same Day Surgery, operating rooms, PACU, and most faculty offices are equipped with an Anesthesia Information System (electronic record-keeping). We have developed a new Multidisciplinary Anesthesia Preoperative flow-sheet which has impacted the quality of patient care and operating room efficiency.

Academic Center and Library
The Administration Building Library maintains a 24-hour reading room in JHSH of Cook County. In addition to containing a core number of clinical journals and texts, the reading room provides convenient request boxes for specialized information services, MEDLINE searches and interlibrary loans.
